Training Teens For The Mission Fields
* Introduce yourself/Ask questions to get to know them.
* What do you think about God? What do you think about Christians? How do you think people get to heaven?
* Would you mind if I tell you what the Bible says a real Christian is? (Now you have a moment, make the most of it.) We are born with a sickness in our heart that separates us from God. This sickness is called sin. (Rom. 3:23) Sin consumes you and ultimately will ruin your life (Rom. 6:23). It’s not about being good or bad; we are born with it; it is a condition of our heart. (Psalm 51:5). It will wreck our lives by …. (Fill in relevant/practical things here). Man tries to heal himself through his own efforts but there’s only one cure for this disease.
* The only cure is Jesus Christ (John 14:6). He died on the cross for our sins & then 3 days later rose again to show He has power over all things, even death. He died to forgive us of our sins and give us a new heart. When we totally give our lives to him he breathes new life into our heart for the first time. This cure is the miracle that makes us a new person & gives us eternal life with God.
* This all happened to me when I turned away from the world and sin and committed my life to follow Jesus. (Tell how Jesus made you a new person and how you have turned away from sin.) Is there anything keeping you from making the decision right now?
* If they’re ready…Help them to understand that each person must choose to put God above all things in your life. Ask them in their own words to tell you what the decision means to them. Help them to pray.
* If they are not ready…Ask what may be holding them back. Answer any questions they have; give them guidance; ask if you can pray for them.
Prayer of Salvation:
I know that I have been born with
a sinful heart that separates me from you. I believe Jesus died on the
cross and rose again as the only cure for the condition of my heart.
Jesus, forgive me of my sins; make me a new person in you. Today I know
that Jesus Christ is Lord and I commit the rest of my life to live for
you. In Jesus name I pray…Amen
Ways to encourage them to grow in their relationship with God:
* Read God’s Word (Ask if they have a Bible). Start in Book of John.
* Pray (Talk with God as you would a friend. He will hear you.)
* Find a good church and have fellowship with other believers.
* Tell others what Jesus has done in your heart.
