There are several dates and opportunities available for you/your group to serve or donate to help these little ones.
Youth Quests has currently partnered with a few Orpanages or Rescue Home Ministries who have established orphanages or currently working with orphans or children in need of help due to various reasons. At this present time one orphanage has 63 children and running in rented building and will increase as they have the funds. In another location a church in Haiti is supplying housing in paritioneers homes, food and an education to 23 orphans and they are in need of a facility so that they may help more. We also want to work along side a ministry in Thailand is starting a Rescue Home for underage girls trapped in human-trafficing or sex-trade. Also in Kenya we have given support to an orphans and widows outreach and the list goes on.
There are thousands of children turning out on the streets, at bus stands and train stations begging for food because of the Tsunamis, Earthquakes, HIV/AIDS, much poverty and numerous terrible diseases. Many governments do not have an adequate welfare system to be able to care for those in such poverty or caught in situations they wish to be free of. As you know the poverty is very great and human-traficing is prevelent in many areas of the world. Street orphans go daily to the trash cans trying to salvage a morsel of rice or piece of food and find some type of shelter to sleep in. When a orphan or homeless child doesn't get the food and shelter from the elements they need to survive, they will die from starvation or exposure. What a terrible situation for a child to be alone to survive on the streets or to have some gang or human trafficers earning money by taking these precious destitute children and sell them to the rich as slaves or the female children sold into the sex-trade and houses of prostitution.
James 1:26-2:1 Religion which is pure and undefiled in the sight of God, even the Father, is this: to look after orphans and widows in their affliction with a view to ascertaining their needs and supplying them, and to be keeping one's self unspotted from the world.
